The Spring Capital Workshop, hosted by the West Wales RPB and Capital Programme Office in The National Botanic Garden of Wales, brought together key stakeholders from across West Wales to reflect on the first year of implementation of the Regional Capital Strategy and collectively discuss priorities moving forward.

Prosiect Aber & Penrhyncoch FC

 A day up in the North of the County today, first hearing about Prosiect Aber from Menter Aberystwyth, Aberystwyth Business Club and Aberystwyth Town Council and then over to Penrhyncoch Football Club to discuss expanding their Meals on Wheels service run from their Clubhouse, The Rooster.

Building tomorrow's Wales: re-inventing your volunteer engagement

Chairing this WCVA event at the National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth was Hazel, CAVO's Chief Executive.  The Aberystwyth session was one of five events held across Wales and online.  A highly interactive and participatory event led by two of the world's leading experts on volunteer engagement, Rob Jackson and Martin Cowling. During the session we identified obstacles, difficulties and practical solutions to volunteer engagement in these challenging times.

Teleri visited Ysgol Cribyn to hear about their community shares offer. They hope to raise funds to purchase the former school and turn half of the building into a community centre and the other half as an affordable home for a local family/person. Find our more on their website.

Busy day today! A visit to Borth Community Hub and chant about funding and fundraising strategies, as well as a short tour around the hub!

Then onto Rheidol Railway, to see their new display and heritage space - This will be open for groups to use as a meeting and activity space, as well as being available to hire for public and provate events! If you'd like to know more, contact phil@rheidolrailway.co.uk.

Teleri attended a Growing Mid Wales event to look at minimising emissions and reducing energy costs. The event had Interesting speakers including the Regional Skills Partnership, National Grid Energy and Scottish Power Energy and it was nice to catch up with some familiar exhibitors which included Centre for Alternative Technology, Business Wales, Antur Teifi and Severn Wye Energy Agency,
